Kinneil Colliery (Paul Drury) |
In early 2005, Paul presented a march to Unison Kinneil Band to use as their own. He did not name the march, preferring to ask the band to name the piece themselves. They decided to name the music Kinneil Colliery, in tribute to the band’s history and heritage as the band linked to this famous mining centre of the same name, which was sited in Bo’ness, in Central Scotland. This march features in almost all of the band’s concerts, and was fittingly played at the unveiling of a miners’ memorial monument in Bo’ness in May 2007. Lasts around 3½ minutes, and is written in a traditional street march style. |
